About This Training

This training provides an overview of the American Iron and Steel (AIS) requirements, the Build America, Buy America Act (BABA), and the Federal Wage Regulations of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts as they apply to water and wastewater infrastructure projects funded in whole or in part by federal loans or grants.   Participants will learn the history of the acts and how to properly manage compliance responsibilities, avoid funding risks and how to navigate the waiver process of AIS and BABA.

Participants will learn:

  • The history of AIS, BABA, and Davis-Bacon provisions and how they apply to infrastructure projects

  • Identify which materials and products are covered under AIS and BABA while recognizing compliance responsibilities of funding recipients

  • Review strategies of compliance and understand the consequences of non-compliance

The recommended audience includes operators, system managers, financial managers, board members, engineers and contractors.
